Before you find the best carpet steam cleaner make sure you know what kind of fiber your carpet is. Different carpets require different cleaners, settings, etc. With over 10 years of experience in carpet cleaning, we will share with you some good tips as follows some things:
I did before starting the cleaning is hit the carpet with arms n hammer carpet powder the night before. We also bought a Damp Rid packet to collect moisture from the room. I did 3 passes of cleaning and vacuuming, with a final warm water pass, and a few dry passes. the carpeting does come out brighter and smelling fresh. we also utilized fans to help with drying.
The number one problem was that most people didn’t vacuum properly, so they had to get their carpets cleaned every few years and they were always filthy. Never wear shoes in your house, and if you have pets vacuum at least twice as often. Also, vacuum after every event.
If the liquid is spilled on carpets clean it up immediately. Keep putting dry towels down and stand on them, then put a fan on the damp spot.

What is the Best Steam Cleaner for Carpets?
You want to search for a carpet cleaner with steam instead of paying for carpet cleaning services. Hopefully, the list of the 5 best carpet cleaners below will help you:
Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Full-Size Carpet Cleaner
Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Full-Size Carpet Cleaner also helps pets with 2-in-1 Pet Upholstery Tool. I actually use a good shampoo with oxy clean in it. But I also add more oxy clean to the solution about 1 cup per jug.
I do a pass going forward with the water on very slow slower than most people would and than return just as slow. After the carpet is done I then do the same thing but I use unstoppable in the rinse.
Heat some water up put the unstoppable in it and wait 10 mins. My carpets last a month now. I have around 400 pounds of active dogs in the house 5 total. It is time consuming about one and a half hours on a 12X10 rug. I use to do it like other people to fast and I would have to do it every other week. The 3rd week I get down and smell the carpet really good and it still is ok by the 4th week the dogs are starting to show. It’s like having a 12X10 air freshener.
Super lightweight. Nothing ever breaks. Cleaning chemicals are inexpensive and last you a long time but on top of all of this, you forgot to mention that Bissell is probably the only one that actually makes your carpet and house smell good and clean! Still going strong.
So first the cleaning ability, the Bissell Proheat 2x Revolution uses a 2 brush roll design which is so effective that pretty much every carpet cleaner manufacturer is moving to this design.
The true revolution of this new generation of carpet cleaners is their ease of use. Its moves just like a vacuum cleaner, which is a huge step up from the super bulky and super expensive professional carpet cleaners.
It has a low profile so you can clean under furniture or other obstacles. It really changes the whole concept of carpet cleaning from a huge disrupting job to something you can do on the fly as needed. In fact, they seem to have anticipated this with spray adjustment switch called express cleaning mode for light jobs like rugs or touch-ups. They claim that in this mode carpet dries in about 30 minutes with Express Clean Mode.
It comes with 2 different hand tools, including a 2-1 pet tool which can dry vacuum pet hair which is collected in a small container, then you can switch it to wet mode for cleaning.
It also comes with the same tool sold with Bissell’s spot cleaners, which we have used for upholstery and spot cleaning with our Bissell Spot clean Pro and it’s solidly built and works very good.
And the main negative issues I had was with filling the clean water tank because it is so tall you really need to use a large kitchen sink. Also, the Power cord at 25 ft is slightly below average length I would prefer an extra 5 ft or so.
I know I have been gushing about this carpet cleaner, but I am pretty excited about how much it changes the carpet cleaning market if for no other reason than you can finally get a carpet cleaner which cleans as good or better than the rentals which maneuvers like a vacuum.
Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Washer FH50150
If your homes with pets, homes with stained carpets. For general carpet cleaning, and stains/spots cleaning Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Washer FH50150 is best chose.
Not only does it clean well and easily it made your carpets fluffy and soft again. This machine worked excellently. It is lightweight and easy to use. Many people really like how light the machine is. It weighs less than 19 lbs without water. Amongst Hoover’s line of upright carpet cleaners, this one is the lightest.
The two water tanks are a great feature. The best part, in the end, was the “Spin Brushes” rather than the roller brush on other carpet cleaners.
The brushes spin in a counter-rotating manner to agitate and remove dirt and pet stains. Different users have used this machine on both shag/plush carpets and Berber carpets, and they’ve gotten great cleaning results on both types of carpets.
The spin brushes really made a difference in the end result. After applying the water and solution to your carpets, when removing the water from your carpets you must go slow and go over the area a few times the same as any other steam cleaner.
This Hoover seemed to pick-up more water out of my carpets. The only complaint is the small water tank. You find yourself changing and refilling the water a lot. But it gets the job done!
This Hoover carpet cleaning machine has 10 amps of power for brushing and suctioning the dirty water out of the carpet. 10 amps are powerful. In comparison, most Bissell upright carpet machines have 6 amps of motor power.
We’ve seen a lot of feedback from users who are really satisfied with how the suction power. For anyone interested, this cleaner uses Hoover’s Dual V Suction Technology.
Resume, the Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe FH50150 is a well-designed regular home carpet cleaner that is light in weight, easy to use and it cleans really well.
Bissell Big Green Professional Carpet Cleaner Machine, 86T3
After owned most of carpet cleaner machines as Hoover, Rug Doctor and I now have the Bissell big green machine and it outperforms the other machines and has lasted longer than the other Bissel carpet cleaners and Hoover carpet cleaners. We had a stain on the carpet that I had professionally cleaned.
They did not get the stain out, my regular Bissell carpet cleaner did not get the stain out. That is when I bought the big green machine and yes it removed the stain.
I got a Big Green to replace my old ProHeat 2x. It blows it away in every way possible. It deep cleans better, it sucks way more water from carpets, every plastic piece is commercial grade, the rear wheels have rubber tread, and its capacity for clean and dirty water is great for large houses.
I only have the tiniest of complaints about it, like the power button being behind the top handle. I never get used to that! The hose must be stored somewhere because the machine can’t hold it.
That’s really it. They are very small drawbacks compared to how great this thing is at cleaning and how long it will last compared to a supermarket cleaner.
First time using the Bissell Big Green Deep Clean Carpet Machine 86T3 to clean very dirty carpet in the office, the area is heavy foot traffic in and out of this office to the warehouse area.
Notice there are many spots on the carpet which I believe are grease or oils spots and the machine did a great job of removing them. Considering how horrible the carpet condition was before, I’m very happy with the results.
Rug Doctor Mighty Pro X3 Pet Pack, Deep Carpet Cleaning Machine
If you are looking for a best pet carpet cleaner, then the Rug Doctor Mighty Pro X3 is going to be one of the best choices you have. It is durable, efficient and powerful. It is built to last and comes with a five-year warranty.
Seems like in the home professional carpet cleaner market there is basically Rug Doctor vs Bissell Big Green. The Rug Doctor flushes out up to 89% of the dirt and dust trapped in your carpets, it permeates the carpet so that the cleaning solution and water can help to penetrate the fibers of the carpet. This is then followed by a powerful suction force that helps to dry the carpet quickly, so there is less time spent waiting for carpets to dry.
The owners say: We’d used them so many times and knew how to use it to get our carpets properly cleaned, you can pre-treating the carpet and using only water with a little white vinegar in the machine.
The other reason was most carpet cleaners have a rotating brush towards the front while the Rug Doctor is one of the only machines where the brush moves side-to-side instead. It was explained to me that those rotating brushes tend to rip a lot of fibers out of the carpet and the Rug Doctor was supposed minimizes this with it’s agitating brush. That was important as you will don’t want to be lessening the lifespan of carpet every time clean it.

Yes, for stains and set-in dirt that a vacuum just can’t reach, you need a carpet steam cleaner to scrub your floors. steam cleaning carpets is a good practice to remove dirt and debris stuck deep in the carpet fibers. It requires a steam cleaning machine, soap, and water. And allow plenty of drying time and use fans to dry the carpet.

The other option to you doing your own rug is to have it cleaned professionally. That, too, is a good investment. Unfortunately, I’m a little trepidatious about having another human being see how dirty my rug is when my dogs have frequent accidents. And after a while, even for the best spot checker, your rug will look and smell terrible.
I won’t say that rug cleaner won’t appreciate your business, but people judge. I’d just sooner have this work done and keep my four-pawed children’s secret all to myself. Steam cleaners are inexpensive to use and will allow you to accomplish a task you can take pride in.

Recipe homemade carpet cleaner used for my BISSELL Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine Professional Grade Carpet Cleaner!
So, I think Bissell finally got it down with the 2X technology. Along with some good high-traffic carpet cleaning solution, they work very well. I’d be interested in seeing Hoover implement the spin scrub brush along with a standard brush, that way you get agitation in all directions.
My friend bought the BISSELL Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine Professional Grade Carpet Cleaner and he loves it. If you do get this cleaner don’t use the Bissell carpet cleaning liquid because it is expensive and doesn’t clean well. He uses ZEP high traffic carpet cleaner and the house smells a lot better. They have 3 dogs with the baby.
If you want to maintain your carpet lasting never ever buy a bagless vacuum for your carpet. Properly adjust the brush roller so that the bristles sweep the carpet, not dig into it. The tips of the bristles should just barely touch the bottom of the pile and it should offer no resistance.
